About

Welcome to my website! Here’s a bit about my background in a nutshell. I grew up in Lexington, MA with my parents and sister. I went to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY and graduated in 1993 with a BA in Business and Economics, with a Spanish minor. After college, I came back to Boston for my first “real job” at Coopers & Lybrand (wow, I feel old … now it’s PriceWaterhouseCoopers!). After a couple of years, I started getting the feeling that Accounting wasn’t creative enough for me, but I gave it one more shot, and worked for a year at Avid Technology in their accounting department.

After deciding for sure that I didn’t want a career in Accounting, I thought business school would be a good way to change careers. I went to the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (just recently renamed the Booth School of Business), and received my MBA cum laude in 1998. Out of B-school, I took a job with Abbott Laboratories in their Management Development Program, where I worked in Sales for a year, Marketing Research for a year, and then in Product Management. Then, an opportunity at Kraft Foods came open as an Associate Brand Manager, and I had always wanted to work in consumer products, so I jumped at the chance. After a couple years, I wanted something a bit smaller so, took a position as Brand Manager at Jim Beam Brands (now called Beam Global Wine & Spirits… wow, a lot of name changes!).

By that time, I had been in Chicago for 9 years, and was really itching to get back to Boston to be closer to my family (parents, sister, brother-in-law and 3 adorable nieces). So, I moved back and took a position at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston as the Director of Marketing. I made a great impact there, but my position was eliminated in July ‘08.

At first, I started looking for a job full time, while also working for the JCC on a consulting basis on a project I was working on finishing up when I left there, in addition to a few other projects.  Then, I started learning more and more about social media, so started consulting in the space.  I’m currently working with companies in pharmaceuticals, consumer products, consumer services, and B2B.  I am open to full time jobs if the right opportunity presents itself, but I’m really enjoying this consulting stuff!  Anyway, here’s a copy of my resume.

So, what do I like personally? Well, a few hints are above: cottage cheese, bourbon and jewish things :-) Yes, I do like cottage cheese, but don’t define myself by it. I am definitely a bourbon and scotch connoisseur… Knob Creek is my favorite bourbon, and usually my “drink of choice”. I love talking about whiskey. Judaism is an important part of my life — I am on the Board of the Young Leadership Division of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, but am just very involved in the Jewish community in Boston. I love to travel, and usually take one international trip each year. The last 2 trips I took were to Peru (I hiked the Inca Trail) and Israel (I biked 270 miles from Jerusalem to Eilat)!!!

I have a lot of friends, and am always running around doing something with them. I’m actively dating, which for anyone who is also actively dating, you know takes a good amount of time! I have a yellow lab named Stella, who is 3 1/2. I love dogs!

So, that’s me in a nutshell. Feel free to ask, if you want to know more about me! Or you can check out my resume.
