After being out of work for a time, it&#039;s hard not to focus on the present situation. One starts to become defined by the current situation [unemployment]. Slipping into that mindset probably makes it even harder to get a good job. 

Always starting with a positive statement makes one recall the knowledge, skills, talents and accomplishments that impress others. You never know who you will impress and where it will create a solid networking connection. That connection will be critical in tapping the unposted job market. Something like 80-90% of all jobs are filled before being publicly posted. Make a positive impression, always!
